Triangle Ecycling is a triple bottom line company. Giving back to our community is our primary focus.
The goal of our Triangle Ecycling Kids Initiative (TEKI) is to provide computers for every local charity that supports kid's education. TEKI enables our intern techies to engage with the next generation of youngsters who may be less fortunate and in need of computers to take advantage of the benefits technology can bring to education. In addition to the exposure to the many good causes nonprofits address in the Triangle, interns learn the many benefits of giving back to our community.
We also provide laptops at no charge to Durham Public Schools students in need. Students simply contact the Career and Technical Education counselor at their school (see list and contact info). More than 300 laptops are donated every year.
Corporate laptop donations are urgently needed to support our continued giving to DPS students like these.
“Thank you sooo MUCH for your incredibly generous donation of tablets/laptops! I am absolutely THRILLED and deeply grateful for your support.
As a Title I school serving students from low-income families, access to technology at home will truly be life-changing! Since most of my students do not have access to technology at home, this donation will open doors that were previously out of reach for them and their families. They will enable my students to practice their math skills, build confidence and I am confident that this will make a TREMENDOUS difference in their academic growth!
We are so excited to put these devices directly into students’/parents’ hands and begin using them to support learning right away. THANK YOU for believing in our students and investing in their futures—it means more than I can express!”
computers for nonprofits
Over the years we’ve been donating and installing computers for charities we have been impressed by what a positive and immediate impact these refurbished computers can have. We’ve focused on leveraging their value by installing them in centers operated by the charity be it a shelter, teaching program or school. We also give laptops directly to students. Refurbished laptops are given to both the Salvation Army and Greater Durham Boys & Girls Clubs to award hard working Durham Public School students in their programs. Our partner nonprofits include: Durham Public Schools Foundation, Families Moving Forward, Durham Literacy Center, Student U, Durham Children’s Initiative, SEEDS, The Scrap Exchange, The DPS Hub Farm, the West End Community Foundation, Book Harvest, Life Skills Foundation, Durham Crisis Response Center, Durham Network of Care, Durham Interfaith Hospitality Network, CAARE, El Centro Hispano, InStepp and Exchange Family Center.
