Triangle Ecycling is a triple bottom line company. Giving back to our community is our primary focus.

The goal of our Triangle Ecycling Kids Initiative (TEKI) is to provide computers for every Durham Public School student in need and every local charity that supports kid's education. TEKI enables our intern techies to engage with the next generation of youngsters who may be less fortunate and in need of computers to take advantage of the benefits technology can bring to education. In addition to the exposure to the many good causes nonprofits address in the Triangle, interns learn the many benefits of giving back to our community.

covid 19 response

We also provide laptops at no charge to Durham Public Schools students in need. Students simply contact the Career and Technical Education counselor at their school (see list and contact info). During the March - June ‘20 lockdown we donated over 300 laptops to students in need and continue to do so as remote learning becomes the new norm.

Corporate laptop donations are urgently needed to support our continued giving to DPS students like these.

computers for nonprofits

Over the months we’ve been installing computers for charities we have been impressed by what a positive and immediate impact these refurbished computers can have. We’ve focused on leveraging their value by installing them in centers operated by the charity be it a shelter, teaching program or school. We also give laptops directly to students. Refurbished laptops are given to both the Salvation Army and Greater Durham Boys & Girls Clubs to award hard working Durham Public School students in their programs. Our partner nonprofits include: Durham Public Schools FoundationFamilies Moving Forward, Durham Literacy Center, Student U, Durham Children’s Initiative, SEEDS, The Scrap Exchange, The DPS Hub Farm, the West End Community Foundation, Book Harvest, Life Skills Foundation, Durham Crisis Response Center, Durham Network of Care, Durham Interfaith Hospitality Network, CAARE, El Centro HispanoInStepp and Exchange Family Center
